Sustainable IT Organisational Maturity Scale

For each of the 11 core capabilities, indicate your Current Maturity Level (C) and your Target Maturity Level in 2–3 years (T).

Individual Skills Framework Maturity Scale Reference Levels:

The SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age) uses a seven-level scale to describe professional skills, responsibility, and accountability. The levels range from entry-level execution to executive leadership:

  • Level 1 (Follow): Works under close supervision and receives specific guidance.

  • Level 2 (Assist): Uses discretion to resolve routine problems and receives routine supervision.

  • Level 3 (Apply): Executes non-routine tasks and works under general direction.

  • Level 4 (Enable): Supports others and works autonomously to deliver objectives.

  • Level 5 (Ensure, advise): Manages activities, provides advice, and initiates actions.

  • Level 6 (Initiate, influence): Influences decisions, plans approaches, and sets standards.

  • Level 7 (Set strategy, inspire, mobilise): Makes business-critical decisions and leads organisational strategy.
